NASB | Hosea 13:14 Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hosea 13:14 Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol (the place of the dead)? Shall I redeem them from death? O death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from My eyes [because of their failure to repent]. [1 Cor 15:55] |
Bible Question: Can U all help me in refuting an unbelievers contention that the Lord our God is a vile and crule God? She uses Hosea, wherein it is described that "babies will be ripped from wombs, and their heads dashed on the rocks." I need some scriptural support for telling her that God was "warning" His people about their disobedience. Can anyone help me? slide_m46@yahoo.com |
Bible Answer: I agree with what others have said. I do not have my Bible here at work BUT, I can assure you that once your UNBELIEVING friend becomes a BELIEVER he or she will understnad more than any of us can tell her. Scripture tells us that the eyes of the unbeliever are, for the most part, blinded to the truths in the Bible. Prayer will allow the Holy Spirit indwelling you to speak to him or her. Just like a starving man, we must get them fed before they can do it themselves. Therefore, you must be used of God to show him or her the way to Slavatin before he or she will start to understand. I will be praying that God empowers you to be an example and guide to salvation for your friend. God Bless! |
