Bible Question:
I am really confused about the whole "70th Week of Daniel" thing. And I am sure many others are too, as it is a very controversial and rather esoteric passage. Many people promote the idea of a gap between the 69th and the 70th weeks. I just can't get the text to support that. I understand there are many interpretations and I would like to hear from everyone their "take" on this verse and its relevance to the return of Christ... |
Bible Answer: Amber ... You are right, there are various views about this, each with Biblical support. I believe some prophecy can happen twice. To say something has happened and will not happen, is dangerous. I am waiting for terrible times, without fear. There are serveral problems that Taleb and others have ... I say this because they have not given a clear answer or refuse to answer. All I need to prove is that one part hasn't been fulfilled and that group is denfenseless. They claim Daniel's prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD, pointing to Matthew 24 ... 1. 24:14. The gospel wan't preached to the whole world, even the whole Roman world. 2. 24:15. Daniel's prophecy a. There was no one who claimed to be a god (Dan 8:11). b. The 1,290 / 1,355 days happened before Christ, but not yet (Dan 12:11-12). c. They claim the wing (of the temple) (Dan 9:27)is the winged eagle of the Romans 3. 24:30. The Son of Man did not appear in 70 AD 4. 24:36-41. No one was taken - left behind ... I could go on |
