Bible Note: Hi Teragram123, I see the Isaiah and Luke passages as good companion verses. Ezekiel 28 I compare with 2 Thessalonians 2. Ezekiel 28:6, "Therefore, thus says the Lord God, 'Because you have made your heart like the heart of *God,...'" 2 Thessalonians 2:3, "Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being *God." There will be many false Christs who will come and say "I am *He". Sometimes I wish that English had a lower case "i"; for then these would be found out easily. Ezekiel's passage says that he takes his seat and displays himself as God. He can lift up his heart and call himself a god sitting in the seat of gods, but he is still a lower case man and not God. Ezekiel 28:2, "Yet you are a man and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God." From the heart, Ray |
