Subject: I Have Not Sent Them |
Bible Note: The article referenced does do an excellent job of defining false prophets but goes too far when it attempts to speak for all Charismatics/Continualist. I am a Pentecostal and I define false prophets exactly the way the article did. If someone prophesies and that prophecy is then proven false the person is a false prophet period, no exception. Likewise if someone says "I think/believe thus and such is going to happen" that is not prophecy and should not be required to conform to the same standard. Way too many people speak as if they are prophets and they are not. These people are deceived and need to be silenced. I have a major objection to the Strange Fire conference is that it tried to lump every form of errant and false theology into the Charismatic/Pentecostal camp. If you go the Assemblies of God website you can find white papers written condemning these falsehoods and half truths. There are many falsehoods being spread in this land but it is wrong to try to lump them together with orthodox but continuationalist simply because you are a cessationalist. |
