AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jeremiah 20:7 ¶ [Jeremiah said,] O LORD, You have persuaded me and I was deceived; You are stronger than I and You have prevailed. I am a laughingstock all day long; Everyone mocks me. |
Subject: Why does Jeremiah think he was deceived? |
Bible Note: Jeremiah could have been saying, "I don't see it yet." There could be the possibility that Jeremiah is petitioning God to bring light to his eyes regarding this question. "Let me see what I am not seeing. Where are you in this situation in which I feel so alone." Or he could be complaining. "It FEELS like you are making a fool of me." Could be a challenge for God to snuff the doubt and give enlightenment. Jeremiah wants answers for sure. He just happen to be pointing the finger whilst asking those questions. At least he was complaining to GOD if that was the case. :) Praise the LORD! -"D" |
