NASB | Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. |
Bible Question:
I know this question has been asked, but I believe that the answers given need to be challenged, in the light of the many commentaries that say that the answer given is incorrect. Could I ask "what do YOU understand it to mean?". God bless. |
Bible Answer: I believe it means we are healed from our sins. If it truly ment that our physical healing was already done then there would be no sick Christians and that is impossible as we live in a sin and disease infested world. I believe God is Sovergen. I believe He does and can heal. He can do anthing He chooses. I also believe we need to be seeking for spiritual healing before physical healing. |
