Bible Note: Very good thoughts, brother Ed... I can identify personally with a lot of them! I have noticed that some hymns, though very sentimental, do not reflect sound doctrine. That's embarassing when you discover how much you've enjoyed them over the years. :-) As you said, a lot of hymns reflect personal testimony... as such, they wouldn't really fit as hymns of worship, although they could fit as hymns of praise.
