Bible Question:
Some say that God does not create evil, but what does this mean. Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. |
Bible Answer: God is off the hook for (moral evil) sin, we cause that from a perversion our own freewill. But God is responsible for (natural evil) like you stub your toe, get pneumonia, get cancer or you drown, get hit by lightening, etc. Some think evil does not exist,it is has no substance, it is a privation or an absence of good, like a hole in a classic donut. Light is the absence of darkness, darkness is the absence of light. So, evil is real, but not a real thing. The only thing that has substance or being is that which is good, therefore even the devil must have some good in him... the real tough questions becomes, since God made everything and everything he made is good, how can there be any evil at all? For God and creation evil does not exist! How is good corrupted? What causes the corruption? Evil is a privation. Is God the author of privations? He did give us freewill... tough dilemna huh? |
