Bible Question: Will God ever remember our sins even after he has forgiven us? |
Bible Answer: N.Christian: God's firm promise is that he will do for us what we cannot do ourselves, i.e., remember our sins no more, blot out our sins completely and utterly, when we repent and ask His forgiveness. We can't do that. When someone does us wrong, we may forgive him but we can't really forget the wrongs he has done to us; we can't blot them out as if they never existed. When we commit grievous sins, we can never blot them out of our minds. No matter how hard we try, we are like David: our sin is ever before us. But God says he will blot out our sins from his remembrance. That's the ultimate forgiveness, and only God can give it. Glory and praise to Him. Blessed be the name of the Lord. --Hank |
