Bible Question (short): The fear of the Lord is his treasure? |
Question (full): In regard to the Lord lifting Himself up, there are two other places where the context and the translation will allow His being lifted up. 1) Isaiah 33:3, NASB, 1995, "At the sound of the tumult peoples flee; At the lifting up of Yourself nations disperse." Isaiah 33:3, NKJ, "At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee; When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered." I personally would go with the extra pronoun of the NKJ. 2) Isaiah 33:2, NASB, 1977, "O Lord, be gracious to us; we have waited for Thee. Be Thou their [Some versions read our] strength every morning, Our salvation also in the time of distress." Isaiah 33:2, NKJ, and 1995 NASB, "Be their strength every morning, Our salvation also..." I would go with the extra pronoun of the 1977 NASB with perhaps a modern rendering of the 'You' such as, "May You be their [our] strength every morning, Our salvation also in the time of distress." This is all related to the "who or what is the stability of our times?" Any comments or observations? From the heart, Ray |
