Bible Question:
Can any one help me on this scripture, It seems to me that the stump of a felled tree (as this scripture is describing) is a long way away from its root, even more so with a family tree, possibly thousands of years away. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Lightning56, Verses 11-9 talk about how Assyria would be like a tree cut down at the height of its power. Judah, the royal line of David, would be like a tree chopped to its stump. But out of that stump a new branch would grow. The branch would be Jesus. He would be greater than the original tree and would bear much fruit. (Life Appl Bible commentary). prayon |
