Bible Note: DPMartin You are right in what you say yet the fact remains that we have learned, faithful, committed, dedicated theologians that can't agree on reading of various passages of scripture. All claim to be seeking the truth, all claim to have found the truth yet the truth they found divides them and contradicts the other's truth. And the tragedy is they have more or less agreed to disagree and throw platitudes around like we agree on essential and disagree on minors. And they are bold enough to do it in light of John 17:22-23 (NASB) 22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Notice what Jesus says will make the "world" know God sent Jesus. OUR UNITY. In which we suggest we agree to disagree but in times past burnt each other at the stake over and speak bitterly about today. Where is the testimony of Christianity |
