Bible Question: How does one really forgive? I find it very difficult to fogive if the person who has wronged you is someone close to you (i.e., parents, siblings, spouse). Pls teach me how to forgive ... and eventually, forget... |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Pro 20:22, Rom 12:17-21, 1 Cor 13:5 ... God's day to you, faith n hope Love is not provoked and does not take into account a wrong suffered (1 Cor 13:5) among otehr things. When we are wronged, we want revenge ... but we should leave that up to God and even eb at peace with those who wrong us. We need to let them out of our prison, where we think about how to get back. Sadly, some don't care they wtronged you, so keeping them prisoner doesn't matter to them ... some even like it. My wife and I have been wronged greatly ... but we let God deal with these people - one who cost us over 10000 dollars. We even still talk to her. We know what she did ... so it is not forgotten ... but the forgiveness let us make it so it doesn't have a negative impact on us. We forgive even tho they don't ask for it. Searcher |
