Subject: Can you explain this phenomenon? |
Bible Note: Aixen7z4 Once again you wax philosophical filling your statement with many “if’s”. Why does man do what he knows it is wrong? Is not the problem rebellion? Rebellion of our flesh to respond to what God tells us is right? Is this not sin? Is not sin the problem that man has fought but lost for ages? Is not sin the reason God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sin? Not to give us sinless perfection but rather to pay the price for our sin? We can try to blame Satan but the devil didn’t make us do it. All Satan can do is present evidence (falsehoods) that make us question what God has told us is true. Satan has never made one person commit adultery, murder, or to ignore the truth of the God’s word. However he has presented lies that allow us to justify, question, ignore, and even corrupt the very Word of God. There is no mystery, no confusion, no reason to wax philosophical or even fatalistic we need only look to the rock of our salvation. The if’s, maybe’s and all other uncertainties dissolve in the light of God word. The why’s are not all answered by detailed reasons, however trust and faith in God still answers them all. If we believe God is in control and if we believe Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.“ Then need not know all answer to all our why’s or worry about all the if’s or concern ourselves with the maybe’s, all we are required to do is keep our eye on the Lord of Salvation, and long for the day of Saviors return. I fail to see the reasoning behind your question or the point of your comment unless it is to evoke a discussion on free will and where that plays into our sin nature. I think everyone will agree man is born with a sin nature and as such needs Salvation and that Jesus provided that salvation. If you want to get philosophical think upon this. Isn’t simply asking the question, ‘why was one person saved and another not’, birthed in our sin nature as we try to deflect some of the blame for man’s fallen state on to God. But an even greater question would be, ‘since God has chosen not to reveal the reason why one man is saved and another not, is it something we should concern ourselves with?’ Going even higher with our question, “does debating, discussing, or even philosophizing over this issue glorify and edify God or does it feed something within us that ought not be feed. Lastly I ask if God would mark each one with an “S” for Saved and “L” for lost would it change anything Jesus commanded us to do until His return? I see no point for any of us to worry what might be, we are told to focus on what is, Man needed salvation, Jesus died for our sins, salvation through grace is provided for us, as believers we are to take THAT Good News to the world. No where was it commanded to bring concern into the world over why one man accepts God and another doesn’t. EdB |
