Bible Question: question? if you do not make it a point to go to church on Sunday and fellowship with others, praising God in his Tabernacle, and also be able to fellowship with other believers, and listen to the preached word of God. how can you function as a Christian? |
Bible Answer: know several Sabbath keepers that go to services on Sunday, and I have nothing against it. I don't because going to church on Sunday is the seal of a Catholic. Keeping Sabbath is the seal of the chilren of Israel . I am a child of Abraham (Galatians 3:29), I have his seal and dedication to God. I also claim my sonship of Israel (still looking for the scripture refrence, ask me when I have the Bible I normally carry). Sabbath is a sign of the EVERLASTING covenant between God and his nation. Exodous 31:13 I don't want you to think that I am being defensive but it comes down to what seal do want to be over you. Do you want the seal of Abraham, the sign of Isreal and the seal of the Holy Spirit. Or do you want to be covered by the seal of Constantine I. So OK to answer your question We fellowsip at the beginning of Sabbath (this is called Kiddush meaning sanctification, as in sanctifying the Sabbath day) and have a service at that point with teaching and a praise service. After that there is an Onig (a time to eat and fellowship together) this usually runs untill midnight friday. We then go home and rest untill the end of Sabbath which we close together with Havdala which is a service that says good by to Sabbath. The apostials observed both. In Acts the Word reads that the believers gathered after the Seventh day (Saturday evening) and someone fell out of a window and died then was raised back to life. That was a long service if it started at ten am on Sunday and lasted untill after dark that day. That is what most casual readers would think. But a hebrew scolar would tell you that it was a Havdala service with a meal aferwards. Next, Don't you know that you are the Tabernacle of the Lord? Finaly how do I function as a Christian? I don't consider myself a Christian. I am a child of Abraham. I am not a Jew but a child of Abraham by the Grace of God! I am a joint heir in all of the blessings of Abraham and his children. There will be more questions I know but I hope this gets your questions above taken care of. |
