Bible Question:
In Genesis, the Bible speaks of "Keeping the Sabbath," What does that mean? Some say it means to stop all work, and attend church on Saturday. To me Keeping the Sabbath means just what it says.. to keep it. I do not attend church on Saturdays but on Sundays. I keep the Sabbath every day in my heart and the way I live. What would be the purpose of keeping one day (Saturday) when you act like the devil the other six days of the week. I don't think the "day" actual matters as long as you are living "Holy" and "Righteous" every day of the week...24-7. What are your thoughts? |
Bible Answer: Keeping Sabbath holy has nothing to do with going to church. It has to do with having a day to rest and to invite the Lord into your home, allowing you to spend time with him, in His Word or Prayer or praising His Name. You are not asked to defile your self with work or travel. I think that there are only six commandments regarding the Sabbath in the Bible. don't make it complex. The Jews could give you an encyclopedia set on how to keep Sabbath. Just do what God has asked. It is easy! |
