Bible Note: Thanks Emmaus! Too bad we "englishmen" won't address the problems in our language - spin always spin, using words to make them say what we want them to say, not focusing upon what they really mean. Even the word easter rooted in spring is still not what Christians recognize the day to mean. "Resurrection Sunday" is much more significant and leaves no wiggle room for bunnies, baskets and eggs does it?! Bottom line is this, did Christ rise? People have no trouble believing Jesus died, but His resurrection? The Lord makes it very clear that salvation is contingent upon what we believe. In Romans 10:9 we must BELIEVE that God raised Him from the dead! What a fabulous truth! How sad that we English speaking people continue to conceal it with the poor word choice of easter. Instead of saying "Happy Easter," how about this: "Happy Resurrection Sunday!" Now that IS something to celebrate and be happy about! Blessings, Mommapbs |
