Bible Question: I have been away from the church now for awhile and have not been reading the bible, does this mean I have lost everything god has to offer? I would also like to know what I should be reading in the bible to get me back in the right direction. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Eph 4:30 "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption" This is one of my favorite verses. To it means we have eternal security. There are two or three views on this topic. If I could lose my salvation, I would need a measuring stick ... and people have their own list. I did tear up Jane Doe's list with Scripture. Plus, I would worry all the time. Look up eternal security using Quick Search here or use aserach engine. -DO NOT read what is said, only record the verses. -Then, read the verses, in their immediate context (look at the paragraph, at least) -Also, look at the cross references ... see if they make since -Then, you can come up with your own opinion -Finally, see what others say. If you listento them first, your mind may be clouded. |
