Bible Question:
What are boasting things. Does it mean don't speak or talk big, yes the Word says "the more the words the less the meaning and how does that profit anyone"? (Eccl.6:11 NIV). Again the word says "A man who calls himself religious should keep a tight bridle on his tongue . . . (Jam. 1:26) But what you speak is what you get right . . . "For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned" (Matt. 12:37 NIV) I know flattering lips is like a deceitful lips but i need to understand what the Word meant by boasting things. |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, Wofa Ato, I thought of "But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (Gal 6:14). I too encourage you to do a word study. Don't just look at the English word (it can be misleading), but the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek words. I use crosswalk.com. Searcher |
