Bible Question: I am a new believer and am really looking to emerse myself in the word but I am not sure where to start. I'm not sure that starting with Genesis right now really makes sense for me considering the place I'm at in my life and what I am looking to find, so I'd like to start somewhere in the New Testament - any suggestions on where to start or how to go about the process of introducing myself at depth to scripture? Also, is it wrong to go into this process looking to get something in particular out of it? This isn't to say I am limiting myself to only that, but I am hoping to find particular information about forgiveness and God's unconditional love and acceptance of us (which obviously is there). I just don't know if going in with my own agenda is the right thing to do. Thanks! :) |
Bible Answer: J2Praise - A wonderful journey awaits the new believer as he takes his first steps in the study of God's word and begins to treasure it in his heart (see Psalm 119:11). Perhaps of lesser importance than where to begin is simply to make sure you do begin. And having begun, that you continue to immerse yourself regularly in God's word for the rest of your days on earth. ...... Here are three links that may be helpful to you.
