Bible Question:
Proverbs Chapter 1 "To know wisdom and instruction, To discern the sayings of understanding," Were there specific "sayings of understanding" being referred to here and what were they? Is "discerning" the "sayings of understanding" a reference to the fact that discernment was only open to believers or just encouragement to read carefully? |
Bible Answer: All of scripture is the "sayings of understanding" and yes to fully discern we need the Holy Spirit. But even natural man can discern the need for God from reading scripture and that in itself is wisdom. If I was going to point to just one place in scirpture Psalm 119 is filled with understanding, wisdom and instruction |
