Subject: Only 144,000 virgins in heaven? |
Bible Note: I've also studied in depth with Jehovah's Witnesses. I think that we can find a sarcastic way to desribe what any religion believes. Although I am not a Jehovah's Witness, I do understand alot of their teachings. I also understand that they did not find their teachings of the by being mislead by the "Annointed". They are diligent Bible study students who feel like their understanding of the Bible is one of sincerity and "truth". And they try hard (sometimes too hard) to live their lives according to their understanding of the biblical laws. They find their understanding of "the other sheep that will enjoy life on paradise earth" based on the scriptures at Psalm 37:11 (But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace) and Psalm 37:29 (The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever)-KJV. Their belief regarding the 144,000 who will reign in Heaven with Jesus comes from these bible verses: Revelations 14:1-5 The comment in the previous note that "The Witnesses believe they are the only "true" Christians can be applied to most religions. Most religions believe that the beliefs of their people is the right one or "the truth". I don't know that criticizing any religion is what we can find most beneficial, rather, being open to listening and talking to people of other faiths can be beneficial to both the giver and the reciever because it offers the opportunity for each to present their own understanding of the Bible to one another. Maybe one can be brought to Christ or "the truth" (which ever you prefer) this way. Pray for those who might be confused or mislead and continue on with our own personal spiritual growth and relationship with our Heavenly Father. Putting down one's understanding of the Bible isn't for us to do. GOD IS AND WILL BE OUR ULTIMATE JUDGE. Don't be found guilty of trying to fill that role. My prayers are with all of those who are confused as to what the "truth" is. |
