Bible Question: what makes you a prophet? |
Bible Answer: A prophet, in the most basic sense is one who speaks the truth. Within this basic understanding a question must be asked: (Pilot asked this question as well) What is truth? Remember that Jesus is 'the way, the truth, and the life.' Also, in the begining of John Jesus is refered to as the Word who was with God AND is God. Thus, you are a prophet if you 1. speak of Jesus, 2. speak as inspired by the Word. Beyound that there exists significant debate - - some say that there are no more (in this age of man) who are prophets, some say that there are more now than ever (considering population and social situations). Ultimately, the only way you can tell if you, or another, is a prophet is through prayer. Be wary of any such thoughts independent of divine revelation - - is this consistent with the word of God? May God bless you on your path!! Allyn Hudson |
