Bible Question: what makes you a prophet? |
Bible Answer: For the our age, church age (dispensation of Grace), one who operates in the gift of prophesy - it is a gift of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4, 10, 28 - 31). It is also called a "calling" (Ephesians 4:1-4, 11-12) in which God reveals divine messages to the prophet to be told to the members of the body of Christ. This message would be something that only God can know, as opposed to psychics who only speak of what has already been spoken. To a prophet God reveals things to come and those things come to pass. In our dispensation, a prophesy is spoken for our spiritual growth, our service to souls, and edification (Ephesians 4:11-12). WalkingTalkingBible |
