Subject: Questions on Tongues |
Bible Note: You had the Isaiah reference correct (28:11 ... 12) ... But I wanted to show you that Isaiah and Paul were saying that speaking in tongues was a sign of judgment. If you study tongues, you will see this to be true. Plus, tongues is a human language and is -one of many gifts (1 Cor 12:4-10) -given, as all gifts, by Him (1 Cor 12:11) -a lesser gift, so shouldn't be desired (1 Cor 12:28, 31) -but should not be scoffed at (1 Cor 12:12-27) -like other gifts, not possessed by all (1 Cor 12:29-30) -need to be excerised with love (1 Cor 13:1) ... not with boasting, pride ... (vs 4) -temporal (1 Cor 13:8) -a sign for unbelievers (1 Cor 14:22) -spoken by one person at a time, then interpeted (max three people speak and have it interpeted) |
