Bible Question:
Greetings, CDBJ Thank you again for your prompt reply. I was looking for the interpretation of Luke:19 20-27. But now that I read it again, I would like to discuss the entire section. In my bible it's called The Parable of the Minas. Luke:19 11-27 Hope to here from you soon. And know I will never give up on myself or on God. Peace and Bright Blessings, Marie1 P.S. Hope our ducks are in a row now... |
Bible Answer: Hi Marie1, Do you want my rendition in a nut shell or the long drawn out version? We must remember it is a parable. i.e. A short, simple story, usually of an occurrence of a familiar kind, from which a moral or religious lesson may be drawn. Here is the reason behind the story in Luke 19:11-27 Luke 19:11 Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. Notice the two “because” in the verse; one is due to a geographical location and the other was due to His disciple’s sudden great expectations of the kingdom beginning soon. CDBJ |
