Bible Question: Why would God allow Hosea to stay in a marriage when the wife was prostitute? Isn't adultery grounds for divorce? |
Bible Answer: Adultery is not the unpardonable sin, but Christians have made it so... accept if it is for ourselves that is... than we of course plead grace and mercy. Adultery is grounds for forgiveness and walking out our vows. It seems that when we want out of our marriage adultery is just an excuse for un-forgiveness and hardness of the heart. If we can't stay with someone who has been unfaithful to us, can we expect forgiveness for our own failings. Isn’t it obvious that people leave one spouse to join another... though that person may have been unfaithful to their mate... yet we “forgive” the sin and marry them. Why not admit to the hardness of the heart and pray for forgiveness instead of breaking your vows. |
