Bible Question (short): templerebuilt457or445 BC Messiah27or30AD |
Question (full): In trying to add the numbers up to understand the 70 week prophecy in Daniel, chapter 9 I am running into conflicting information. According to Teachinghearts.org, the final decree to rebuild Jerusalem was issued fall 457B.C. but according to my other source, John Macarthur's Daniel study guide, the decree was issued 445 B.C. Both sources agree the Persian Artaxerxes issued the decree. Then concerning the year Jesus rode in on the donkey declaring himself to be the Messiah, teachinghearts says the year was 27 A.D., while John Macarthur says it was 30 A.D. Can anyone shed some light on what is correct concerning the year each of these two events actually ocurred? Chusarcik |
