Why do you guess that Zipporah was not living when Moses married the Egyptian woman? The opposite assumption could also be made since it does not say that Zipporah had died. One assumption would be as valid as the other. I'm not trying to contend with you, but only trying to gain insight. |
Bible Answer: My two cents on the matter: In Mark 10:1-9, Jesus teaches on divorce. He said Moses made provision in the Law for divorce only because of the Israelite's hardness of heart. However, God's intention from the beginning was monogamy. I must assume that a man of Moses' stature was monogamous and that Zipporah was either an Ethiopian or she died at some point and Moses remarried. I acknowledge my conclusion is based on a measure of assumption and therefore is not conclusive evidence. |
