Subject: The Exodus's importance to Hebrews? |
Bible Note: Renovate Me: I need to clarify my previous post to you. I am not actually disagreeing with what you wrote. I'm not saying you did this, but I am saying that if it were done, it would be a mistake to overemphasize the spiritual application of Exodus to the Church at the cost of de-emphasizing its historical meaning to the nation Israel. At the same time, you do make a valid point when you point out to us the significance of the OT writings to the Church. NASB 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. AMPLIFIED 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now these things befell them by way of a figure [as an example and warning to us]; they were written to admonish and fit us for right action by good instruction, we in whose days the ages have reached their climax (their consummation and concluding period).
