Subject: Why did Isralites have to fight for land |
Bible Note: I don't know but I think it may have something to do with their origins. They were the second generation of slaves. Their parents could not enter in because they just would not trust and obey God. Part of the reason for this may also be the fact that as slaves in Egypt, they had not made any decisions for themselves, had taken no responsibility upon themselves, etc. God has put certain laws in the universe. If you tie your arm behind you and do not use it for a couple of weeks, the muscle will atrophy and be unable to be of any use. A chic must peck at the egg shell in order to be strong enough to live on the outside. If you open the shell for it, it probably won't survive. A baby in the womb moves and kicks so that it has begun to function before it enters this world. And so, it may be that they had to exercise their authority over the land and the territory in order to truly take the land and be able to hold on to it. Just my speculation. |
