AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive and remain with man forever, because he is indeed flesh [sinful, corrupt--given over to sensual appetites]; nevertheless his days shall yet be a hundred and twenty years." |
Bible Question: Bible indicates in Genesis 6:3 the maximal amount of expectant years of life on earth; it’s set at 120 for humanity. Why is life expectancy for Americans set at 76.9 years, when God has clearly stated 120 years of life expectancy? |
Bible Answer: Because God said that there is some sin that does shorten your life, such as dishonouring your parents, as stated in the 10 commandments...I think that in the fallen world that we live in that the life expectancy has also dropped because of all the sin around us. I think the way in which we live our life effects our days here on earth. |
