NASB	Genesis 4:1 Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD."
AMPLIFIED 2015	Genesis 4:1 Now the man Adam knew Eve as his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have obtained a man (baby boy, son) with the help of the LORD."

Bible Question: Where did Cain, the first son of Adam and Eve, get his wife from? After being cursed by God for killing his brother Abel, he complained to God that people would kill him because he was a vagabond. Who were the people he was afraid of because as at that time only his parents, Adam and Eve, and himself existed. Genesis.

Bible Answer: In Gen 4:17, Cain's wife obviously was one of Adam's later daughters (Gen 5:4).

ANY OTHER ANSWER is pure foolishness and idle speculation. The above is the only answer clearly supported by the Bible and reason.

From whom is God protecting Cain? Well, unless some men were descended from Adam and some from monkeys, apparently God is protecting Cain from the descendants of Adam, who are CAIN'S OWN RELATIVES. Perhaps not his immediate family, but relatives nonetheless.

Any other answer would have to be founded on unbiblical speculation.
