AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise and insightful, she took some of its fruit and ate it; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. |
Bible Question: Why were Adam and Eve unable to resist temptation? After all, God had the power to make them perfect. |
Bible Answer: I wonder if you meant to ask, "Why did Adam and Eve not resist that temptation?" Do you think they were utterly unable to say no to Satan? God says we should resist the devil (James 4:7). That suggests to me that we are able to do that, and they were able to do that, for God would not ask us to do something we are unable to do. If they had resisted, he would have fled. It seems that they chose not to resist. |
