Bible Note: Accd to her, she has been studying the Bible for 18 yrs now, she makes her own mind up, but she has been studying under that Murray guy, lately she's been going online too w/some Kingschapel. She was raised Cath, then had a stint w/JW, now she's doing this independent study. She doesn't trust churches, says they are teaching wrong things. I guess they are if she believes what she believes is right. :) I told her I can't see how anybody could come to those conclusions w/o someone planting it in your mind first, then maybe you researching and believing it. She takes her Bible study seriously and will fight you on her beliefs, tries to shove them on everyone who will listen. We're on an egroup and there are nonchristians and maybe some seekers there, I don't want her to run anybody off w/her strange ideas so I say something, then it become the battle of the scripture verses. I've never done that deep of study to really go after her that deep, but I can read! I know there are figurative books in the Bible but I don't think Genesis is one, but try telling her that. I've been knowing her online for several years, we've been on several forums together and are email buddies but we disagree on many things Biblically. We've been argueing over Cain for years now, but she's even more impassioned. Usually I just let it drop when it's just us, some people you can't talk to, but when there are impressionable people around, I feel it's my duty to say something. I just wish I was more knowledgeable. |
