Subject: why did god create the universe? |
Bible Note: Hi Brian You wrote; "Scripture does not definitively say why the universe (outside of our world) was created." And, "But, we know that God created man out of love." and also; "The only motive which remains is love." Nothing wrong with love amen? But you might want to have a look at these verses. This verse says clearly that God made us for His glory. Isa 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. This one says that He made ALL things for His pleasure. Re 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. This one simply states that He did it for Himself. Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: So scripture does "definitively" say why He created all things i.e. the universe.
