Subject: why did god create the universe? |
Bible Note: I love the thought that everything was created for God's glory, including us. Your question seems to suppose that the universe created for God would not be created for us. Think about this; God desiging us in such a way that being fully ourselves according to His design we would endlessly fulfil our potential and in doing so glorify Him who designed us. Would that be "for Him", or "for us", or both? What if it is only sin that makes us think the two are opposing things? What if glorifying Him is about overflowing love of Him toward us, us toward one another and us toward Him? Eph 2.10 reveals that christians are created in Christ to do good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do ... as it were a new creation in which christians can be all we were intended to be way back in Eden; glorifying God by doing the good we long to do that He has made for us to do, and made us to do! What a wonderful thought! |
