Bible Question: In Genesis Chapter one, it states that God created male and female. Does that mean that God created people before Adam and Eve? I was thinking that God did created people before Adam because Adam was the lineage of the Jewish nation, and when Cain was punished for slaying his brother Abel, his wife came from the land of Nod, which was a different place from where he's from? I'm also curious about where did the other people of other nations came from because I don't think we all are descendants of Adam. Any thoughts on this? marg |
Bible Answer: Greetings marg! You wrote, "I don't think we all are descendants of Adam." According to God's Word: "All flesh that moved on the earth perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind;of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died. Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark. Gen 7:21-23 Noah was responsible for re-populating the earth. The genealogy of Noah is recorded in Genesis 5. He is a descendent of Adam. We are all descendents of Noah; therefore we are all descendents of Adam as well. Hope this clears up any confusion about your ancestors! Mommapbs |
