Bible Note: Hi Scot, If you have scriptures to back up any statement, always take time to type them in. If you are stating with Serentine that man was created after the seventh day of rest, many would be interested in hearing your Scripture references. Personally, I think that the same account is told again so that we can have something to compare it to. For instance, Genesis 1:25-26 with Genesis 3:1-5. The parentheses are for comparison. Genesis 1:25,26, "And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after their kind; and God saw that it was good. Then (God) said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 3:1-5, "Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has (God) said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the gardeen?' And the woman said to the serpent, 'From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die.' And the serpent said to the woman, 'You surely shall not die! For God knows that in the day that you eat from it your eyes will opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.'" So, I hope that you can see in this comparison that man was made in the likeness of God, knowing good and evil. We all were made in the likeness of God, knowing good and evil. The Man, Jesus Christ came in the likeness of men, and He was the (One) who said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness." Genesis 3:22, "Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of (Us), knowing good and evil;...therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden,...So He drove the man out;... So as you have written, there is a big diffence between the two accounts just as there is a difference between the Man and the natural man. Between Spirit and flesh. Between Spiritual bodies and earthly ones. A big difference between the perfect Creator and the imperfect, sinful man. From the heart, Ray |
