81 | is mindreading demonic? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 169768
Tim, Her friend says this ability that she has is from God. Is here friend even saved? Secondly if she is saved 1 Corinthians 12 addresses spiritual gifts. What you say regarding the Leviticus and Deuteronomy passages is right on target. Does this person Ginger is trying to help know that. What does fault have to do with anything here. If this is person really into mind reading then she needs to know she's in dangerous territory. If she isnt then she comes out of this more enliightened and educated and if she is here is an opportunity to share the Gospel and win some one to Christ. I would rather err on the side of caution. Greetings brother, YWAM merritts looking into. I was involved with a comparable group many years ago while the group I was involved with(The Way International) doctrinally was much different I did learn that no one is beyond getting fooled. There is no substitute for being 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ. The old saying it's to good to be true usually rings true. So if we run into something that seems counter to Gods Word we need to pause and ask questions,go to Gods Word and find out why. We live in an age where we can ill afford to ignore anything. Good day to all, I thought this would be the best way to reply to all who have cantacted me over the past few days. The artical on biblical teaching was undoubtedly one of the most outstanding I've ever come across. God is not one dimensional and niether is His Word.So it stands to reason that niether can our relationship with God be one dimensional. The article states what I've always fealt but coudnt always adequately express, thanx. This is what we do for each other! YBIC, lionheart |

Face, Greetings. Read all of Hebrews 4.Refer back to Hebrews 3:19 and 11:6. I will agree with you, disobedience cost them bigtime. It's cost us today also when we refuse to be obedient. We have to understand that faith and obedience are linked together. We are not likely to have one without the other. Joshua and Caleb are prime examples, Out of the 12 that were sent to spy out the land they were sent into they were the onlyones to bring back a positive report. They had the faith in the promisess of God and willingness to step out in obedience to God and His Word. That's why they were the only ones of that generation to enter the promised land and the others of that generation died. I do believe that we will fully realize that rest the Day God calls us home. I also believe that we are not called to obey every jot and tittle of the law. It would not be possible for us to do so even if we so desired.I do believe Romans 15:4 wholeheartedly. While we may not be subject to every point of law today the principles taught still live.Jesus even stated that he came to fullfil not to abolish,Paul even states that the the law was our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ. Thus Romans 15:4 even today. In Christ, lionheart |

Face, Thanx for your quick reply. Paul didnt say we were under a schoolmaster,I didn't state that.Paul did state that the law was a schoolmaster to lead people to Christ. What did Jesus and the early disciples teach from. The law! That's what testified of the comming Messiah (Jesus). I will stand by my statement that we are not called to obey every jot and tittle of the law. Even if there was a temple we would not be required to do all. If we believe the Gospel then we one will understand that where sin and salvation are concerned there is no longer any requirement for animal sacrifice. Jesus fullfilled that requirement. So do we still obey every jot and tittle? Read all of Hebrews, it give an awesome picture of Jesus and what he did. Your right learning doesnt get erased, truth never goes away. We are to obey the truth. And with that in mind we gotta be sure that passeges such as Romans 15:4 2 Timothy 2:15,3:16,17, 2 Peter 1:20,21 are key and merit our full creedence. These passeges ar fundamental to any study or application of God's Word. In Christ, lionheart |

SNB2, Sincerity is understandable but not a gaurantee for truth. Comfy views?? Not quite,as a matter of fact it can get down right brutal at times. 2 Timothy 3:12. Read the bible, check out history, you will find more than a few accounts regarding those who laid down there lives for their faith. The bible as you say may have been written by people of that time, but God is still the author. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 2 Peter 1:20,21.Take a good look. The bible is what it says it is,whether anyone believes it or not. Literal, historical? Hmm... lets see. David,Soloman,Jesus, literal people with there places in history.Egypt,Assyria,Babylon,Persia, Rome... All literal, all historical with plenty of documentation biblical and historical to bare them out. It's never been about democracy,it's about living or not living by the standard of Gods Word. You either believe or you dont,Obey or not. There is no inbetween. I'll tell you what, I'll put my stake in life on God and His Word and when all is said and done and the smoke clears we'll see who's still standing. In Him, lionheart |

92 | What did you learn | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 177924
Liliesofthefield, Whether I speak in tongues or not, whether I believe or dont was not the subject of my reply to you. What I was saying in regards to 1 Corinthians 1:29 when I suggested that you read the entire chapter was to see how that particular verse fit in. It had nothing to do with tongues. What Paul was addressing was the division that was going on in the church in Corinth and in the second half of Paul is speaking of Gods wisdom verses the wisdom of man. Thus vs 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. How does this verse fit in with tongues? I was not challenging you on the validity of tongues, but your usage of scripture. We cant take scripture out of context in dealing with any subject,it just doesnt work. In Christ, lionheart |

Vince, I should have been clearer. If you are anything like me when you study then I know you more than likely take allot of notes,in which case it's gonna take time and space that we dont always have. With the online resources and the abundance study tools at our disposal. All that I sugjest is that there are more effective tools at our fingertips. There isn't a substitute for pen and paper, but we can keep it simple. I'm developing a decent research library, but as once was said Rome wasnt built in a day. Such is it in our study and pursuit of Gods Word. That my friend is a lifelong endevore. Withe tools like e-sword and other online resources available it sure makes things simpler. I hope I was a bit more explanitory. In Him, lionheart |

stjohn, God bless your heart. I like Matthew Henry allot. Your use of this particular reference was nothing less than outstanding. I've had to answer this question on more than one occasion. I don't think I was any where near as concise as Matthew Henry was here. One of the things that complicate this particular issue and ones similar to it is that we dont take things like time, place,or administration into account in our research and study of God's Word. When we do though we'll find the answers much more easily and we will be less likely to be putting our own twist on things. 2 Timothy 2:15 and 2 Peter 1:20,21. In Him, lionheart |

100 | Properly Interpreting the Bible | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 190293
Hank, Good morning brother. That's why I will always be a stickler where 2 Peter 1:20,21 2 Timothy 2:15, and 2 Timothy 3:16,17 are concerned. I will never be an expert but I know the EXPERT. Who better than the one who authored the bible. If he has anything in comon with other authors it's he doesnt take kindly with folks tampering with his work. We have all that we need to know. As 2 Peter 1:3 tells us, He's given us all things pertaining to life and godliness. So with all this in mind I think it's a great idea for people to let God's Word speak for it's self. It works every time. In Him, lionheart |
