81 | Is baptism required for salvation? | John 3:5 | Jeshuafreak | 52153
If baptism was required for salvation the thief on the cross would not have been in paradise with Jesus. Also Jesus said, "It is finished." There is nothing else we have to do to be saved, except to believe upon God's Son Jesus Christ. As an outward expression and obedience to God we are baptized as an open profession of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Get baptized out of obedience to Christ. |

82 | Is baptism required for salvation? | John 3:5 | Jeshuafreak | 52200
I was trying to make a point that NOT being baptized will not keep you from heaven. Another point I must make is that baptism doesn't guarantee that one is saved. Some have been baptized who are not yet saved, they did it for show, to please men rather than God, and they have not had a true conversion of the heart. It is ultimately down to an issue of the heart. "Man looks on the outward appearence but God sees the heart." "Confess Me before men and I will confess you before my Father in heaven"- Jesus said Confessing Christ before others is really what is at stake here. Yes, baptism is an essential part of your being born again. Don't anyone misunderstand me. Yes, I have been baptized. Three times in fact. I have been trice dipped and for three different occasions all as an outward sign of an internal conversion, or as a rededication of my life to Christ. Don't, by any many means, neglect being baptized if you are a born again believer. But if you know of one who has not yet been baptized, and they are a true believer in Christ, and for some odd reason they died before they had the chance to be baptized, they have not been disqualified for that reason. If they had a genuine faith they will see the kingdom of God. Now, if you are a true believer by all means get baptized, by submersion and not just a sprinkle...lol. Confess Jesus Christ openly to others, by this act. I got a few more things to say before I end this. St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach Christ and if you have to, use words." I add to that in my words, NOTHING SPEAKS LOUDER THAN A CHANGED LIFE! Live your faith out in practical everyday living and don't forget to smile, laugh and touch others lovingly. It can make a world of difference in their lives and in yours. Be Jesus to them. To some, their only exposure to Christianity is you. Be loving, gentle and kind but never compromise on your convictions, stand up for truth and what is right. This will not make you popular but it will make you known for integrity, which is something lacking in this day and age. It's not "What Would Jesus Do", it's "what would Jesus have me" do that counts. In His service. Love and hugs.-Joshua Olinger |

83 | What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? | John 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 55231
One Nation Under Gods by Richard Abanes ***Who are the Mormons and what do they believe? How did Mormonism begin? Is Mormonism just another Christian denomination seeking the world’s betterment, as it claims, or is it an entirely different kind of theological institution? Was Joseph Smith a prophet? One Nation Under Gods: A History of the Mormon Church answers these and other questions associated with the origin, rise, and progress of Mormonism in America from its earliest beginnings as a nineteenth century “cult” to its current image as a conservative Christian denomination. One Nation Under Gods also documents several of the more fascinating, and rarely discussed, events that shaped Mormonism. One Nation Under Gods will appeal to anyone interested in Mormon history, cults, the religious evolution of the United States, and humanity's perennial desire to find spiritual fulfilment -- a desire too often pursued at any cost. 650 Page Hardbound Book *** http://store.equip.org/cstore/ |

84 | What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? | John 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 55296
http://www.carm.org/lds/compare.htm "A Comparison Between Christian Doctrine and Mormon Doctrine "Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it and see if it will stand the test" (Brigham Young, May 18, 1873, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 16, page 46.) Following is a comparison between Christian doctrine and Mormon doctrine. It will become very obvious that Mormonism does not agree with the Bible. In fact, Mormonism has simply used the same words found in Christianity and redefined them. But with a proper understanding of what Mormonism really teaches, you will be able to see past those definitions into the real differences between Christianity and Mormonism. The difference is the difference between eternal life and damnation." *****This is all you will need short and simple...print it up and be prepared.. -Jeshuafreak |

85 | where did this teaching come from? | Acts 2:37 | Jeshuafreak | 52817
Ray- Thank you for your passion on what is truelly important. I agree with you about leaving behind the trivial and press forward to what is truelly significant. With that said I must maintain that water baptism , though it won't negate you from the entrance into heaven it is something we must do as a result of our conversion to a Holy Spirit filled life. We are baptized publicly to confess to all that we are buried with Christ and resurected with Him to eternal glory. If you are able, and I assume you are in a healthy well balanced church, than by all means be baptized. Again I thank you for your passion. May God illuminate your heart and mind with His Word. -Jeshuafreak |

86 | prayer to God for the (Roman Catholics) | Rom 10:1 | Jeshuafreak | 52699
Romans 10---- 1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Romans 10 To The Roman Catholics or other religious people 1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the (Roman Catholics) is that they may be saved. 87 | what to say to those who smoke weed? | Rom 13:3 | Jeshuafreak | 53406
I am an ex-pot smoker. I quit because I knew in my heart God didn't want me to smoke pot. On another note, if it hadn't been for my pot smoking Christian friends I would not have even considered becoming a Christian. Strange how God works. He causes all things, good and bad, to work together. Well I got convicted in my heart because it had become an idol to me. I couldn't go a day or two without it. I was a slave to marijuana. This was one of many things in my life that had me bound. We should all make application. We all have things that are trying to rise up as high places in our lives. Now I got the same argument with my friends saying they don't see anything wrong with it and that it is not sin. There are many places where this "herb" is not illegal. Would it be ok for me to smoke it then and there? Not for me, because God has spoken to me on this. So even if it became legal in my town I wouldn't be able to smoke it. I do however know from experience that a little puff doesn't make me out of control. I can smoke it without getting wasted. Just as I can have a drink of an alcoholic beverage w/out getting drunk. It all boils down to this . Do I have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Is He speaking to your heart about the areas (the crafty little foxes of compromise) in your life that are robbing you of quality time spent with Jesus. We cannot serve both masters.***** (Matthew 6 23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. )**** I know the verse talks about money but alot of the Bible has application to all the areas of our lives. Just as an id ol need not be a physical golden calf we bow down to. An idol can be any of the high places we set up in our lives and those high places we burn incense to. I see incense refering to our time, talent and treasure being wasted upon these vain pursuits. Again anything that rises up above God in our lives becomes an idol. Can you live without that thing, person or experince? You will not surely die. Tear down those high places. (1 Thessalonians 1 8The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.) |

89 | IS TONGUES FOR TODAY? | 1 Cor 14:5 | Jeshuafreak | 54928
The Holy Spirit is not an it He is a He. He is God and tongues is AN evidence not THE evidence......And WE RECIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. If have excepted Christ as your Lord and Savior you have the Holy Spirit. YOU SAID******"Yes it is! I am a Pentecostal, and we believe that the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost(Spirit) is tongues. When you receive the Holy Ghost you are actually accepting Jesus Christ into you, and once It is in you It tells you what to say. Oft times it is a Heavenly language and no one can understand it, and other times it is in a different language that you do not know how to talk but someone who speaks that language can understand you a receive what God has for them through you. It is very much real and very much for today. I have myself received the Holy Ghost and it is the most wonderful feeling you will ever experience. It is Scriptural too! Acts 2:4, Luke 12:12, 1Cor 6:19, Romans 5:5, Isaiah 28:11 ... this is just some of the Scriptures that tell about the Holy Ghost!" |

I was saying that it is not THE only evidence that is is only one of many and not every believer , myself included , speaks in tongues. go to www.equip.org for books like COUNTERFEIT REVIVAL and CHRISTIANITY IN CRISIS by Hank Hanegraff. There are many false teachers and false Christins for that matter exhibiting counterfeit gifts, and counterfeit signs and wonders. BENNY HINN, REINHARD BONKEY , KENNETH COPELAND, T.D. JAKES, Frederick K.C. Price, Kenneth Hagin, Jesse Duplantis, Joyce Meyer and others. Each of these teachers are immensely promoted on the TBN Network. *****ALSO READ THE FOLOWING ARTICLE****PROPHETS OF PROFIT WITHIN THE WALLS OF THE CHURCH****** http://www.globalnetexec.com/prophetsofprofit.htm |

92 | When does caressing go too far ? | 2 Corinthians | Jeshuafreak | 52868
It goes too far when either of you, either the husband or the wife, finds the act uncomfortable or wrong. One partner should not make the other do something they don't want to do. Otherwise anything goes in marriage. Between only the two of you of course, we can't invite anybody else into our marriage. This includes pornography, this is a form of adultry of the heart. ****** Hebrews 13:4Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. |

If either of you don't like it than don't do it obviously there are some things that aren' t biblically correct but where the Bible is silent let's not shout. Thank you for your feedback.****** You said, "Things like sadism. masochism, bondage and discipline, sodomy, and an almost endless number of bizarre fetishes. Sexual aberrations demean and debase the marriage bed and mock the sacred bond of matrimony. --Hank"*** I agree this would not be love ...... although anything that would be pleasing to one another..and I am not getting specific...seeing as this is a public forum. Use some sense and communicate openly with your wife or husband about what they would like. There are quite a few books on sexual intamacy written for Christians. One I recommend is 'Sexual Intamacy in Marriage' (foreward by Tony and Lois Evans) written by William Cutrer, M.D. and Sandra Glahn. ** I have the revised edition and obtained it through Focus On the Family. It is very concise and touches on alot of topics that can't be shared here. |

You are right. I get cocky sometimes when all is well and I am not being tempted. I set myself up alot of times for a fall when I say, "Oh, I can hadle it." Proverbs says, 'What man can scoop hot coals into his lap and not get burnt?' I don't know the adress but I have heard this a few times...... Let me try to find it... I guess I paraphased it. It applies though. That is the nice thing about God's word. The Holy Spirit makes application. ****Proverbs 6 27Can a man take fire to his bosom, And his clothes not be burned? 28Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared? 29So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her shall not be innocent. |

100 | do not get drunk with wine | Eph 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 54911
My soul might be perpetually dropping showers of tears, if it might know the doom and destruction brought on by that one demon, and by that one demon only! Though I am no total abstainer, I hate drunkenness as much as any man breathing, and have been the means of bringing many poor creatures to relinquish this bestial indulgence. We believe drunkenness to be an awful crime and a horrid sin. We stand prepared to go to war with it. How many thousands are murdered every year by that accursed devil of drunkenness! - Charles Spurgeon |
