Water baptism is the first ritual that one can fulfill as a new believer in Christ. Water baptisms are wet rituals, while real baptisms are dry. The baptism of the Spirit seals the new believer. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, At the moment of salvation God in His grace does 40 things for us, 39 of them are irrevocable while one is revocable; that one is the filling of the Spirit. God says that He will never leave us or forsake us but the moment we sin He is quenched and draws back because we from that point on are functioning under the control of our old sin nature or as Scripture puts it, controlled by the flesh. We are commanded to be filled. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; This is in the imperative mood in the Koine Greek so it’s something we can do and it is accomplished by the exercise of 1 John 1:9. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. By naming our sins to God the Father we are put back in fellowship and under the control of the Holy Spirit again up until the next time that we get out of line by sinning! CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. The verses that emphasize your point in question is found in Hosea. Keeping to the text of this verse in context one must put the verse in it’s proper perspective. Hosea 4:1-10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. 2By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. 3Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 4Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. 5Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. 7As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. 8They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. 9And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. 10For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD. In order for one to understand God’s word there are certain things that must take place first using I Corinthians as a good example. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Are you familiar with what it means by the natural man? CDBJ |

86 | God sees us through the blood of Jesus | NT general | CDBJ | 229394
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I’m afraid your question can’t be answered with Scripture in those exact words. The following is referred to as positional truth; notice the word “IN”. It is as though God sees Christ and we are secure in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (New King James Version) 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. It’s because of the finished work of Christ that we are able to come to the Father but only when we put our “entire faith” and hope for eternal life in the person of Jesus Christ. When this is done we are accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6 (New King James Version) 1:6 (NKJV) to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 2:8-9 (New King James Version) 2:8 (NKJV) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. If the object of our faith is anything other then Jesus Christ all of our faith and or religious activity is in vain and the result will be “eternal separation” from God. Romans 6:23 (New King James Version) 6:23 (NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. It isn’t until we place our entire faith in Christ that God grant to us the privilege of knowing for sure that we have eternal life. Those that don’t have this assurance aren’t fully trusting in Jesus and therefore they don’t have the Holy Spirit as a proof or witness. 1 John 5:10-13 (New King James Version) 5:10 (NKJV) He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

87 | Atonement | NT general | CDBJ | 229245
The fact of the matter is we are all dead spiritually in God’s eyes because of dear old Adam. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Christ came into the world to be our substitute and take the punishment; the punishment that we will receive if we don’t trust in His finished work on the cross. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The last verse is only effective if one places all of their hope for eternal life is the person of Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. A person doesn’t have to die to find out if the will have eternal life, God’s Word tells us now and it’s a sure thing! John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. That pretty much sums it up; if one fully trusts in Jesus they have eternal life right here and now; the moment one trust in Christ He indwells them from that point on. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Have you come to that place yet in your life or is that something you are working on? CDBJ |

Greetings, Could you please show me the verses in the Bible where angles help us with our prayers to God the Father? I know the Holy Spirit helps us but I didn’t know about the angels performed this duty. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. I was always under the impression that it was the Holy Spirit that saved us. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Have a great day, CDBJ |

This is actually someone’s imagination working overtime! The day of the Lord must follow the following. Joel 2:30-31 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Greetings humility, The reason Peter understood wasn’t because he was more of an intellect then all the others it was because of what Jesus explained to him. Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. No one can understand who Jesus is apart from the personal intersession and teaching by God Himself. John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they (the true believers) shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Have a great day, CDBJ |

96 | The sin of smoking cigarettes. | Matt 25:33 | CDBJ | 226279
Smoking is in violation of the following and it’s the verse that caused me to quit smoking over 40 some years ago. 1 Cor. 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Smoking had me in it’s power because I couldn’t quit, I was addicted! I knew that smoking was going to kill me but I just didn’t have the power to quit, that is until I trusted Jesus for my salvation then I had the power to overcome the temptation. Every time I would get the desire to light up I would just pray until the desire went away. It took months but the Lord helped me do it and I got a lot of praying done! I had a Christian brother tell me one time, “smoking won’t send anyone to hell”, of course he was a smoker, and I said he was right but I told him that it made him smell like he had already been there! John tells us the thing that will send a person to hell. Knowing the dangers of smoking now days is about as close as one can get to committing suicide, which brings another verse into play. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. One can’t sow to his fleshly desires and then pray for a crop failure. If a person comes down with lung cancer from smoking it’s a violation of Gal. 6:7 to pray for healing; I know this is harsh but it's what God’s Word says! CDBJ |

Greetings, I hope you receive this in the same love and truth by which it is sent. Just as Christ faced issues that confronted him while he was residing on this earth we must due likewise. Christ faced problems head on with the doctrine that he had residing in His soul. We must do the same with the Bible doctrine that we have metabolized through the imperative command to study the Word so that we won’t be ashamed when problems arise. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. When we have to use others as our crutch to stabilize us in our decisions it signifies a glitch in our Christian way of life. The studyBibleForum is in place to help provide Biblical answers to Biblical question not provide counseling to the participants who utilize the forum. If believers can’t withstand the charge of the mosquito what will be their demise when the charge of the elephant comes? Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 1 Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. We bear up under the pressures of life by claiming many of the “seven thousand promises” that God has for us along with His guarantee of there fulfillment. God’s Word can handle all of our problems but just like food on the shelf of a grocery store it doesn’t do us any good until we eat it and digest it. Many times God sends us trials to test us, i.e. if we are residing in His strength or depending on our own energy of the flesh. Have a good day, CDBJ |

99 | People saved during the tribulation | Rev 7:9 | CDBJ | 225430
Greetings, I assume that you are referring to the verse in II Thes. 2 Thes. 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. There are many that get confused by this verse and that’s due largely to the fact that they don’t realize the period of time mentioned is also called the time of Jacob’s trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Does this sound familiar, “! for that day is great, so that none is like it” Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. This time of trouble is only possible because the protector of God’s people is commanded to stand aside for the progression of Satan’s final fling before Christ neutralizes his demonic actions by His return. If one knows who the protector of God’s people is they would have the answer. Daniel 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. Daniel 12:1-4 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Did you notice the rapture in verse two? 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. There is a one thousand year span between the first and last part of this verse. CDBJ |

That is a very touching and eye opening recording but the truth is even with all of these things the day will come when even they as well as most will experience a very dark and hopeless eternity unless they find the true peace that resides in the Saviour of the world, the lord Jesus Christ. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Merry Christmas too all those who have a personal lasting relationship with the Living Christ of Christmas! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. CDBJ |
