AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 16:17 Then Jesus answered him, "Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, favored by God] are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood (mortal man) did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. |
Bible Question: I don't get it! How could Peter and the other apostles recognize Jesus as the Messiah yet the religious leaders and the other Jews did'nt? I know they all read the same prophecies found in the old testament, so how come the Pharisees could'nt understand? Was Peter more spiritual than everybody else? |
Bible Answer: Greetings humility, The reason Peter understood wasn’t because he was more of an intellect then all the others it was because of what Jesus explained to him. Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. No one can understand who Jesus is apart from the personal intersession and teaching by God Himself. John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they (the true believers) shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Have a great day, CDBJ |
