[The operative word that you have shared is "may" - I believe that this little word recognizes the sovereignty of God.] Our choice, MOM....Freewill...God's Grace is NOT irresistable. If it was we'd be robot's, wouldn't we? Our love to Him wouldn't be love. We chose Him because we saw His love. Then our broken spirit was made new. Many don't choose Him though He died for them, also. "Blessed are they....who hunger and He already knows who is hungering and "will not leave them confortless". Having said all this takes nothing away from the sovereignty of God. His foreknowledge is often looked at as predestination requirying no action on our part. That's not so. He just always knows how we will choose because He sees our whole life. I thank Him that He saw I would choose Him because the way He has brought me, I now see His object. I know it is more than redemption He has in His eternal plan. |

Thank you MOM, When you wrote "complete in Christ" the below came to mind. Examine the two verses and compare with salvation. I mean if I say we are "saved to be saved" you'd think I'm weird. But yet Paul says: Col. 1:28 (KJV) [Christ] Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Col. 2:10 (KJV) And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. We are indeed saved by the Blood of the Lamb..But unto what NOW as we wait for the redemption of our bodies? |

[I asked you a question. You gave me more verses. So, again, I ask you: Ken, are you saying that these passages teach that a man is saved and sinless until he hears the gospel and must choose or reject Christ?] If I would have given my opinion you would have asked for scripture to back it up. I gave you scripture first. Now what do you think it says? |

[But you are still avoiding my question: 1 Cor. 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. If this isn't baptism with the Holy Spirit, then what is it?] It is the baptism into the Body of Christ. But it is NOT the baptism of the Holy Ghost as Jesus promised [and that John the Baptist spoke of] that He send from the Father, is it? You have a Bible ...read it. |

[No It was symbolized in John 20:22 and actualized in Acts 2] Then you are calling Jesus Christ a deceiver since you say He really didn't do anything in John 20.22. ergo, they weren't indwelled at that time and you have completely ignored Acts 1. Why don't you speak to Acts 1? Did you rip that chapter out? |

67 | Why 4 Gospels? | NT general Archive 1 | Ken hepting | 100984
This is a repost of what I stated in the another post. All of the gospels are referred to in the OT and in Revelation. By their being mentioned as such I would think that God sought to give addition "proofs" of their inspirations. Ezekiel 1:5-10 (NASB) And within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form. [6] Each of them had four faces and four wings. [7] And their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf's hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze. [8] Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, [9] their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. [10] As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man, all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle. Rev. 4:7 (NASB) And the first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. All of this is represented by the four gospels. Lion of the tribe Judah.....Matthew Ox, the servant, beast of burden....Mark Man, Jesus Son of man...Luke. Eagle, Son of God, Christ...John |

I agree that we are to live by faith IN Christ (not by faith OF Christ). How so since His faith is the Faith and the ONLY Faith that pleases the Father? Show me your works and you show me your faith. Without His faith, the Mind of Christ, from you your works to please the Father remain in you with your misplaced affections. How did Paul state it... "It is no longer I that live but Christ lives in me..." [First exp.in Jn 20.22] Paul was successful...We should be also. Don't you believe that. Acts 2 is the "coming upon" of the Holy Spirit...Not the indwelling. Acts 2 is for the enablement of Jn 20.22. Paul knew that more than anyone aside from Peter, Phillip, James, and John.. |

[Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit when we believe. It was first done in Acts 2 and continues on until today.] No, it was first done in John 20.22. And while you might consider that a baptism [I do] it was the baptism into the Body of Christ; The first time anyone ever experienced the "New Birth". And that continues to this day...Both experiences continue to this day. |

[The Holy Spirit gives POWER to witness. Acts 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.] The word "witness" is closely linked and from the same root as "martyr". If we can realize this then it can be understood that our lives do the witnessing and on the special occasion, if we live by the faith of Christ Jesus, we may experience an annointing to do the special thing [Gift] from the mind of Christ for His purposes at that moment.. It might only a "word in season"..But oh what a word though perhaps it be only a seed. |

[Because you wrote "it is His power of Himself in you functioning and not power that He gives you" it appears you are saying that He both empowers us and doesn't empower us. These are mutually exclusive. Would you clear up the dilemma?] Because we are called to live BY the faith of Christ. [not many do. They live by their own "fuzzy feelings" and not faith not placed IN Christ Jesus] Therefore it is Him-His power within, aside from my will, except that I will His will to function in me and By me. It's called "abandonment". Oswald Chambers, whom you don't read explains it quite nicely. Perhaps you might reconsider. Here's and excerpt to kick start you. January 1st. LET US KEEP TO THE POINT "My eager desire and hope being that I may never feel ashamed, but that now as ever I may do honour to Christ in my own person by fearless courage." Philippians 1:20 (MOFFATT) My Utmost for His Highest. "My eager desire and hope being that I may never feel ashamed." We shall all feel very much ashamed if we do not yield to Jesus on the point He has asked us to yield to Him. Paul says - "My determination is to be my utmost for His Highest." To get there is a question of will, not of debate nor of reasoning, but a surrender of will, an absolute and irrevocable surrender on that point. An overweening consideration for ourselves is the thing that keeps us from that decision, though we put it that we are considering others. When we consider what it will cost others if we obey the call of Jesus, we tell God He does not know what our obedience will mean. Keep to the point; He does know. Shut out every other consideration and keep yourself before God for this one thing only - My Utmost for His Highest. I am determined to be absolutely and entirely for Him and for Him alone. My Undeterredness for His Holiness. "Whether that means life or death, no matter!" (v.21.) Paul is determined that nothing shall deter him from doing exactly what God wants. God's order has to work up to a crisis in our lives because we will not heed the gentler way. He brings us to the place where He asks us to be our utmost for Him, and we begin to debate; then He produces a providential crisis where we have to decide - for or against, and from that point the "Great Divide" begins. If the crisis has come to you on any line, surrender your will to Him absolutely and irrevocably. "My Utmost for His Highest" http://www.myutmost.org/cgi-bin/today.cgi |

But you are assuming my attitude is wrong. It isn't. I guard what comes from me, that it be righteousness. BUT I haven't arrived. My discernment is still under construction. For that I appologize, especially to you. I've re-read many of your inquiries and have seen my lack in responding to you. Please forgive me. And thanks for the kind rebute. Ken Murray is right on with what He states to be the need of everyone seeking to "become" other than "just saved" good living folk hoping their re-dedicator won't give out on them every Sunday. |

74 | Scriptural support of your position? | Matt 28:18 | Ken hepting | 100972
Just some more follow up here, moms. [That blood has been shed, for the forgiveness of ALL sin - but only those who choose to accept, to trust HIS payment for THEIR sin are forgiven.] That blood has been shed for all the world. Why? Because God so loved it. But IF one rejects it when told, the power of salvation is made of no effect. [Prior to Christ's death and resurrection, people were declared "righteous" on the basis of their faith in God.] Not so. They were and will be declared righteous by their deeds of righteousness and that because they recognized there was a God. Remember many of whom I speak never had the law or the Prophets. [Gentiles] See: Rev. 20:12 (Dar) "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is [that] of life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books according to their works." [See Hebrews 11 - men were approved on the basis of their faith. Just as in the days before Jesus, there is nothing we can DO to earn God's favor.] Sure there is. See God in things as Abraham-Lot and others did. God heard them and revealed Himself to them. They had no word to read day to day that their faith might be sustained by it. Ken Matthew 5:6 (Dar) Blessed they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. |

John 15:22 (KJV) If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. John 15:24 (KJV) If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. |

78 | Why did Adam grow old? | Gen 1:27 | Ken hepting | 100967
[After the fell of man the sickness and death comes in this is the reason why God drove them away from eden because if they eat the tree of life they will leave forever.] Why the need to eat of the tree of life if they never sin? |

79 | Why did Adam grow old? | Gen 5:5 | Ken hepting | 100966
If living forever wasn't a problem, accompanied by "growing old", why was there a tree of life in the garden whereby had they eaten they would have? How is it that Jesus grew old? He was without sin. Was there perhaps a point in time where they would have stopped getting old [in appearance]? If so what point in time would that have been, in your estimation? |
