61 | Timothy's holy calling | 2 Tim 1:9 | 00123 | 241269
What is meant by the holy calling in this verse? Is that a calling that we should live a life of consecration or do a special mission given by the Lord? If the latter also makes sense, what was the holy mission for Timothy (and Paul)? Thank you.
62 | Vessels to honor or dishonor | 2 Tim 2:20 | 00123 | 241389
Which one is this verse meaning: (1) only gold and silver vessels give honor to the Lord as they are cleansed ones and others are not or (2) any type of vessels can if it cleanses itself?
63 | Timothy of age 50 treated as a child | 2 Tim 2:22 | 00123 | 241338
2 Timothy was written in year 67 and Timothy, born in year 17, was age 50. In the old time, a person of age 50 might have been a grandparent and even today most people of age 50 don't live for youthful lusts. So, why does Paul treat Timothy as an adolescent here and in other verses of the letters to Timothy?
64 | Timothy's age | 2 Tim 2:22 | 00123 | 241340
Beja, Thanks for your kindness. Let me reiterate the questions, then. Do you (or any other reader) know (1) the year when 2 Timothy was written, (2) the age of Timothy at that time, and (3) whether or not Timothy was like one generation younger than Paul (e.g., Paul calls timothy as my son)?
65 | Timothy died at age 80 in 97 AD? | 2 Tim 2:22 | 00123 | 241351
EdB, Thanks for your reply, which is kind very contradictory to our usual Sunday school teaching in which Timothy is depicted as a boy while Paul as an old man with beard as well as a pastor's sermon, which is not much different from the Sunday school one. By the way, do you know "the" original source of the argument that Timothy was martyred at age 80 in 97 AD?
66 | Definition and examples of good deeds | Titus 2:14 | 00123 | 237486
Hello brothers and sisters, (1) Would you define "good deeds"? (2) Would you list a few examples of good deeds? |

67 | Did Enoch die? | Heb 11:13 | 00123 | 232487
Who are "these people" who all died in the verse? Do they cover all the heroes in faith mentioned from v. 1 to v. 12? Thus, do they include Enoch? Note that V.5 reads "Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found." To my knowledge, it has been a traditional interpretation to conclude that Enoch (his body and soul together) went to God in heaven, skipping death. |

68 | Where was Enoch "translated"? | Heb 11:13 | 00123 | 232580
Brad, Thanks for the answer. So, where was Enoch "translated"? Do you think he was translated to the Heaven where Jesus ascended to the Heaven and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father? If not, was he translated to Abraham's bosom where Nazarus died and was carried by the angels? What do you think? -Dan
69 | Two Kingdoms of God in separate times | Rev 11:15 | 00123 | 225543
Do we have two kingdoms of God: the Kingdom of our Lord (God the Father) and the Kingdom of His Christ (God the Son)? In other words, do we have one kingdom first and the other next in time?
