61 | OT people called God "Yahweh" in prayer? | Matt 6:9 | 00123 | 190001
Kalos, Then, are you saying that OT people called God Yahweh when they pray? That is what I don't understand. For example, the British queen's name is Elizabeth, but nobody (maybe except for her parents) calls her Elizabeth in front of her. Do you have in fact any Biblical evidence that people called the name of Yahweh in their prayer? Jews today do not call (even read or pronounce) Yahweh because the name is so holy and Jews fear Him dearly. Thank you. |

62 | Did people call "our Father" in prayer? | Matt 6:9 | 00123 | 189967
Following the Lord's Prayer, we start our prayer by calling "our Father" first. (Question 1) But I wonder if people in fact called God "our Father" in their prayer either in the OT or NT. (Question 2) If not, what name did they call? Thank you for your reply.
63 | Books for a high-tean girl to read | Deut 6:7 | 00123 | 189081
As a father, I feel obliged to teach my kids well in every field of life. A summer vacation is coming. My 9th grade daughter wants to read books in the summer. She is a bookworm reading many books, but I hope she could develp a Christian worldview and understands every writing from God's point of view through reading. Anyhow, would you recommend books good in content and style for a high-teen girl to read? Any genre (fiction or non-fiction) is welcome. Thank you.

65 | Birth place of Cain and Abel | Gen 4:1 | 00123 | 188589
Two questions: (1) Were Cain and Abel born in Eden? (2) Did Adam become Cain’s father at age 2? The following is interesting from http://marshallgenealogy.org/bible/index.htm#TOC. Adam was born in 3941 BC in Eden. He died in 3011 BC in East of Eden. He was buried in Hebron. Adam married Eve. Eve was born in 3941 BC in Eden. She was buried in Cave of the Machpelah, Hebron. Adam and Eve had the following children: Cain was born in 3939 BC. Abel was born in 3938 BC in Eden. He died in 3880 BC in East of Eden. Seth was born in 3811 BC. He died in 2899 BC. |

66 | Define "happiness" based on the Bible | Lam 3:17 | 00123 | 188556
WSJ says "As a country, we (USA) are richer than ever. Yet surveys show that Americans are no happier than they were 30 years ago." But what is "happiness"? What is the happiness we (USA) have forgotten? Would you define happiness from the Biblical perspective? |

67 | The right presidential candidate | Bible general Archive 3 | 00123 | 188432
After He (God) had removed him (Saul), He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, 'I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.' Acts 13:22 I believe participating in the election is a Christian's duty. My question is: In this coming presidential election, which candidate is the right person to vote for from the Biblical perspective? Why? |

69 | How old was Adam when Cain was born? | Genesis | 00123 | 180791
How old was Adam when Cain was born? Some Bible genealogy books and Internet sites say Cain, Adam's first son, was born when Adam was one year old or so. Of course, Adam's apparent age must be of an adult's even one second after being created. And there is no doubt he could be a father from the very beginning of his creation. But I don't crealy see a Biblical evidence from readings that Adam and Cain were one year or so apart in age. Anyone has some insight into this issue? Thank you. |
