41 | Why John, not Jesus' borthers? | John 19:27 | 00123 | 226691
Why did Jesus ask John to care of Mary? What happened to Mary's other children? Caring mother is own children's responsibility, isn't it?
42 | Who is the man who buys the treasure? | Matt 13:44 | 00123 | 225871
What is the treasure and who is the man? if the treasure is the Kingdom of Heaven (is it?), can we say the man who sacrifices everything is our Lord rather than we? The reason I am thinking that way is we didn't pay anything but faith and confession to enter the Kingdom, but the Lord did. For example, “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1 ESV). We just go and receive the Kingdom as a gift of grace. No "work" of "price" of our own is involved for us to be a citizen of the Kingdom. |

44 | Paradise and the Kingdom of Heaven | 2 Cor 12:4 | 00123 | 225553
Two questions. (1) Is this Paradise the same as both ones in Luke 23:43 (And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.") and Rev 2:7 ('He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.')? (2) Is the Paradise the same as the Kingdom of Heaven? Thank you. God bless!
45 | Two Kingdoms of God in separate times | Rev 11:15 | 00123 | 225543
Do we have two kingdoms of God: the Kingdom of our Lord (God the Father) and the Kingdom of His Christ (God the Son)? In other words, do we have one kingdom first and the other next in time?
46 | Paradise is Heaven? Would you clarify? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225355
BradK, Are you saying the Paradise is the Heaven? If so, I'm confused. After resurrected, Jesus said, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’" (John 20:17). But he went to the Paradise right after his death until the resurrection. Then, it seems clear that the Paradise cannot be the Heaven where God our Father lives. 00123 |

47 | Where was Abraham? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225352
Angels carried Nasarus, the beggar, to Abraham. [Question 1] Where was Abraham when welcoming Nasarus? In the heaven or somewhere on the earth? What does the Bible say about this issue? [Question 2] Is this parable referring to the future when Jesus would come to the earth the second time? Or is it now, meaning a dead person immediately goes to either Abraham's bosom or the the hot place where the rich man went?
48 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | 00123 | 225342
Moses and Elijah appeared. We can guess Elijah ca,e down from heaven as he ascended to heaven alive. My question is from where Moses appeared. Did he also come down from heaven? If so (or not), would you provide the Bible verses you used as the basis of your answer? Thank you.

50 | About the Kingdom of God for 40 days | Acts 1:3 | 00123 | 224953
Two questions. (1) What are the things Jesus talked to disciples concerning the kingdom of God? (2) Jesus talked about them for forty days (a long period of time). But why doesn't the New Testament have the details? Thank you in advance. God bless!
51 | Jesus' harsh words | Matt 12:34 | 00123 | 224705
Jesus is God of love. So, what does His behavior of this verse mean? (1) Jesus loved them in heart, but not in word, invoking them to repent. So, His harsh word was an expression of true love. (2) In fact, Jesus couldn't love them because they were evil. Only those who are evil do not get God's love. (3) Other (specify please) |

52 | Paradise vs. Heaven | John 20:17 | 00123 | 224633
Luke 23:43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” According to this verse, Jesus, after the cruxifiction, went to Paradise. My question is, If the Paradise is in the heaven, how can Jesus say “I have not yet ascended to the Father” (Jn 20:17)? Which one is He meaning in the verse? (1) He did in fact ascended to the Father in the Paradise between the death and the resurrection, but not permanently or officially yet. (2) The Paradise is not in the heaven. Not God but Abraham is living there (Luke 16). (3) Or something else? |

53 | The true Gospel Jesus proclaimed | Matt 4:23 | 00123 | 224502
Dear fellow Christians, When we see the four books of Gospel, the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven (or Kingdom of God) Jesus Messiah proclaimed emphasizes not only believing in Jesus but “mainly” the obedience to God’s Word. The modern Protestant church is stuck to justification by faith but ignores sanctification not necessarily theoretically but practically. This tradition produces more nominal Christians, hindering growth in true religion. We hear but do not practice or obey God’s Word. Do you agree with me that the Gospel Jesus preached was to urge us to live a life obeying God’s Word rather than to merely accept Jesus as the Savior? |

54 | Actions to preach the kingdom of God | Luke 9:2 | 00123 | 224432
Exactly what did Jesus mean by "preach the kingdom of God"? Let us imagine we are His disciples in Jesus' time. We were sent by Him and enter a village. Then, what were we suppose to do there? Can you list what actions to take to preach the kingdom of God? Tell me some details in the act of preaching. Thank you.
55 | Money box of Jesus | John 12:6 | 00123 | 223295
How much was in the money box? Can you guess in current sense like in the dollars? I ask this question because someone argues that as shown in this verse he carried a money box Jesus was in fact financially very rich: he was not poor at all against our usual understanding.
56 | Pastor giving a wrong info | Luke 6:37 | 00123 | 223225
A pastor keeps giving a wrong information in his sermon. For example, one day, he said Oprah Winfrey's success results from her Christian faith, so we should live like her. But Oprah is not a Christian but a new age activist who belives there are millions of ways to go to God or to Heaven, rejecting the Bible's teaching that Jesus Christ alone is the only Way to God. Am I "judging" the pastor when saying his idea on Oprah is incorrect? Should I just "forgive" him for whatever misinformation in the sermon?

58 | A retrospection on Rev. Falwell | Deut 11:26 | 00123 | 190296
What do you think now of the opinions of Late Rev. Jerry Falwell said regarding the attack on the World Trade Centers? I personally agree with him, who lived his life as a great warrior for the Lord, but Christians' sin is not smaller as a cause of the 9.11 tragedy than the types of sinners he pinpointed, I think. However, I see no sign of reformation or repentance in the American Christianity while it is badly needed. Here is an excerpt from the Washington Post: Friday, September 14, 2001; Page C03 Television evangelists Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, two of the most prominent voices of the religious right, said liberal civil liberties groups, feminists, homosexuals and abortion rights supporters bear partial responsibility for Tuesday's terrorist attacks because their actions have turned God's anger against America. "God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve," said Falwell, appearing yesterday on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club," hosted by Robertson. "Jerry, that's my feeling," Robertson responded. "I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population." Falwell said the American Civil Liberties Union has "got to take a lot of blame for this," again winning Robertson's agreement: "Well, yes." Then Falwell broadened his blast to include the federal courts and others who he said were "throwing God out of the public square." He added: "The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.' " People for the American Way transcribed the broadcast and denounced the comments as running directly counter to President Bush's call for national unity. Ralph G. Neas, the liberal group's president, called the remarks "absolutely inappropriate and irresponsible." Robertson and others on the religious right gave critical backing to Bush last year when he was battling for the GOP presidential nomination. A White House official called the remarks "inappropriate" and added, "The president does not share those views." Falwell was unrepentant, saying in an interview that he was "making a theological statement, not a legal statement." "I put all the blame legally and morally on the actions of the terrorist," he said. But he said America's "secular and anti-Christian environment left us open to our Lord's [decision] not to protect. When a nation deserts God and expels God from the culture . . . the result is not good." Robertson was not available for comment, a spokeswoman said. But she released a statement echoing the remarks he made on his show. An ACLU spokeswoman said the group "will not dignify the Falwell-Robertson remarks with a comment." |
