21 | OT people called God "Yahweh" in prayer? | Matt 6:9 | 00123 | 190001
Kalos, Then, are you saying that OT people called God Yahweh when they pray? That is what I don't understand. For example, the British queen's name is Elizabeth, but nobody (maybe except for her parents) calls her Elizabeth in front of her. Do you have in fact any Biblical evidence that people called the name of Yahweh in their prayer? Jews today do not call (even read or pronounce) Yahweh because the name is so holy and Jews fear Him dearly. Thank you. |

Kalos, Then, back to my original question, how did the OT people call God YHWH in their prayer? Thank you. |

23 | Jesus' harsh words | Matt 12:34 | 00123 | 224705
Jesus is God of love. So, what does His behavior of this verse mean? (1) Jesus loved them in heart, but not in word, invoking them to repent. So, His harsh word was an expression of true love. (2) In fact, Jesus couldn't love them because they were evil. Only those who are evil do not get God's love. (3) Other (specify please) |

24 | Who is the man who buys the treasure? | Matt 13:44 | 00123 | 225871
What is the treasure and who is the man? if the treasure is the Kingdom of Heaven (is it?), can we say the man who sacrifices everything is our Lord rather than we? The reason I am thinking that way is we didn't pay anything but faith and confession to enter the Kingdom, but the Lord did. For example, “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1 ESV). We just go and receive the Kingdom as a gift of grace. No "work" of "price" of our own is involved for us to be a citizen of the Kingdom. |

25 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | 00123 | 225342
Moses and Elijah appeared. We can guess Elijah ca,e down from heaven as he ascended to heaven alive. My question is from where Moses appeared. Did he also come down from heaven? If so (or not), would you provide the Bible verses you used as the basis of your answer? Thank you.
26 | The "true" meaning of talent | Matt 25:15 | 00123 | 227138
What is the true meaning of "talent" our Lord tried to tell us?
27 | Jesus views on the wealthy and the poor | Matt 25:26 | 00123 | 233048
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ (Matthew 25:21 ESV) Based on this talent parable by Jesus, can we say the financially rich people are upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful, while the financially poor people are wicked, lazy, and idle? I know that could be too much generalization because in other places of the Bible the rich are condemned (James 1:10, 11, 2:5, 6, 5:1), but the Jesus parable is totally against our current social and political climate that the rich are considered wicked and lazy while the poor, industrious and honest. |

28 | No marriage b/c we are bride of Jesus? | Mark 12:25 | 00123 | 233060
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Mark 12:25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Luke 20:35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage. Jesus says that after resurrection, nobody marries. Is that because we, male or female, are the bride of Jesus and all of us already have a husband, Jesus, so it doesn't make sense for us to marry anyone else (of course, including sex with any human)? Relationships with the Lord will replace those with a human spouse. We desire to be resurrected (or raptured), unite with Jesus, reign with Him, and spend eternity with Him, but it appears we are very much ignorant of the life in the Kingdom of God that comes with our resurrection. A major reason might be the Bible is silent about it, but we focus too much on the earthly life issues. Anyhow, it looks very sure that there will be wonders after wonders in the Kingdom of God because the life there is very much different from that now and that we will be so excited and busy to learn about and enjoy every of them. |

29 | Pastor giving a wrong info | Luke 6:37 | 00123 | 223225
A pastor keeps giving a wrong information in his sermon. For example, one day, he said Oprah Winfrey's success results from her Christian faith, so we should live like her. But Oprah is not a Christian but a new age activist who belives there are millions of ways to go to God or to Heaven, rejecting the Bible's teaching that Jesus Christ alone is the only Way to God. Am I "judging" the pastor when saying his idea on Oprah is incorrect? Should I just "forgive" him for whatever misinformation in the sermon?
30 | Actions to preach the kingdom of God | Luke 9:2 | 00123 | 224432
Exactly what did Jesus mean by "preach the kingdom of God"? Let us imagine we are His disciples in Jesus' time. We were sent by Him and enter a village. Then, what were we suppose to do there? Can you list what actions to take to preach the kingdom of God? Tell me some details in the act of preaching. Thank you.

33 | Where was Abraham? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225352
Angels carried Nasarus, the beggar, to Abraham. [Question 1] Where was Abraham when welcoming Nasarus? In the heaven or somewhere on the earth? What does the Bible say about this issue? [Question 2] Is this parable referring to the future when Jesus would come to the earth the second time? Or is it now, meaning a dead person immediately goes to either Abraham's bosom or the the hot place where the rich man went?
34 | Paradise is Heaven? Would you clarify? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225355
BradK, Are you saying the Paradise is the Heaven? If so, I'm confused. After resurrected, Jesus said, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’" (John 20:17). But he went to the Paradise right after his death until the resurrection. Then, it seems clear that the Paradise cannot be the Heaven where God our Father lives. 00123 |

35 | Evengelists, get locals' support. | Luke 22:35 | 00123 | 233024
Matt 10:10 or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support. Mark 6:8-9 and He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a mere staff--no bread, no bag, no money in their belt--but to wear sandals; and He added, "Do not put on two tunics." Jesus' above instructions are not followed closely today because when going on mission trips we normally pay for our entire expenses. Furthermore, we bring gifts to locals and build houses, schools, hospitals, or churches for locals. There is criticism such a practice on evangelism increases locals' dependence on materials rather than the Gospel. In contrast, when Jesus' disciples followed the instructions, they lacked nothing and their missionary work was successful. My question is, Do you think Jesus' way of evangelism is still valid today? Any thoughts, observations, or experiences to share? |

36 | Enoch and Elijah didn't see God yet? | John 3:13 | 00123 | 232469
Dear bothers and sisters, (John 3:13 ESV) No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. This verse clearly says only Jesus went up to the heaven. So, Enoch and Elijah didn't. But many people argue they indeed did. Then, look at the following verse: (John 1:18 ESV) No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. If Enoch and Elijah ascended into the heaven, how come did they not see God? Three possibilities: (1) Enoch and Elijah didn't ascend into the heaven. (2) Enoch and Elijah did ascend into the heaven, but the heaven is a different heaven from the heaven where God resides. (3) Enoch and Elijah did ascend into the heaven, but they were not allowed to see God until the Resurrection Day. Which one of the above (or any other answer) is correct? Please help my understanding. God bless. Daniel |

37 | God's fair standards to judge evildoers | John 5:28 | 00123 | 232552
John 5:28-29 "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment." Many say Moses' Law will be used to judge those who died without hearing the Gospel. But Moses' Law was given only to Israelis. Even their contemporaries or enemies such as Canaanites, Egyptians, Babylonians, Persians, and Hittites never heard of the Law. So, it seems very unfair to judge them by the Law. My question is by what "fair" standards those who died without hearing Moses' Law before or after Jesus came to earth to preach the Gospel will be judged for their having done good or evil? |

38 | Glory from one another vs. from God | John 5:44 | 00123 | 232621

39 | Money box of Jesus | John 12:6 | 00123 | 223295
How much was in the money box? Can you guess in current sense like in the dollars? I ask this question because someone argues that as shown in this verse he carried a money box Jesus was in fact financially very rich: he was not poor at all against our usual understanding.
40 | We cannot come to God? | John 13:33 | 00123 | 232700
John 7:33 Therefore Jesus said, "For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to Him who sent Me." Obviously, where Jesus was going was God our Father. Then, in John 13:33, why did He say, "Where I am going, you cannot come?" That means we cannot come to God. Does death or the rapture bring believers to God the Father immediately? Don't we say in a funeral the dead person is with the Lord now? What did Jesus mean when saying we cannot come where He went? |
