501 | Should Christians remain silent on these | Rev 17:5 | Pastor Glenn | 64520
Pigs Created That Carry Human Genes! Concerning a news article at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,66345,00.html "WASHINGTON — By manipulating swine sperm, Italian researchers have made a strain of pigs that carry human genes in their hearts, livers and kidneys, an advance that could lead to creating herds of pigs that could provide organs for transplanting into humans." Is this an abomination or what? It seems that no one cares how God feels about his creation design being twisted, sliced, or diced. Should the "ends" (everlasting life) justify ANY "means"? There is a continuing move to live forever without God. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. Psalm 24 1 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Should Christians remain silent on these things? Pastor Glenn |

502 | could this scripture be related? Zech3:1 | Jude 1:9 | Pastor Glenn | 64513
EdB, After reading the scripture you gave from 2 Pet 2:10-14, I read the rest of the chapter. Verse 22 really stands out: 22But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit,"[Proverbs 26:11] and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." A Christian should really detest the idea of slipping back into sin after reading that. Pastor Glenn |

504 | could this scripture be related? Zech3:1 | Jude 1:9 | Pastor Glenn | 64480
Johnny, This is not generally known: 2 Kings 18:4 He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image[18:4 Hebrew [Asherah, ] a Canaanite goddess] and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan.[ Literally [Bronze Thing] ] At a later time, they had turned what God used for deliverence into an idol. I was surprised to learn of this a few years ago in Sunday School lesson study. Pastor Glenn |

505 | could this scripture be related? Zech3:1 | Jude 1:9 | Pastor Glenn | 64458
EdB, You are right about the danger of them idolizing his tomb. They had, after all, idolized the bronze serpent that God had Moses to set up. By the way, could this scripture be related? Zechariah 3 1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. 2And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?" It just sounds very simular to Jude 1:9. Pastor Glenn |

Alabaster, Jesus addressed fantasy: Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Deut 19 refers to Cities of Refuge and false witnesses. Where do you see a connection to fantasy? Pastor Glenn |

507 | Verse for encouragement in death | 1 Thess 4:18 | Pastor Glenn | 64262
kristi4252725, 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 508 | Mt 1:16, Luke 3:23 different fathers? | Luke 3:23 | Pastor Glenn | 64230
Robert, Joseph was the son "-in-law" of Heli. The women's names were rarely mentioned, it just was not considered proper. However, the line traced through Mary was the most important to show that the prophecy to Adam of "the seed of the woman" had been fulfilled along with the prophecy that He would come through the line of King David. " Matthew's list of the forefathers of Jesus showed that Christ was the son of Abraham, in whom all the families of the earth are blessed, and heir to the throne of David; but Luke shows that Jesus was the Seed of the woman that should break the serpent's head, and traces the line up to Adam, beginning with Eli, or Heli, the father, not of Joseph, but of Mary. The seeming differences between the two evangelists in these lists of names have been removed by learned men. But our salvation does not depend upon our being able to solve these difficulties, nor is the Divine authority of the Gospels at all weakened by them. The list of names ends thus, "Who was the son of Adam, the son of God;" that is, the offspring of God by creation. Christ was both the son of Adam and the Son of God, that he might be a proper Mediator between God and the sons of Adam, and might bring the sons of Adam to be, through him, the sons of God. All flesh, as descended from the first Adam, is as grass, and withers as the flower of the field; but he who partakes of the Holy Spirit of life from the Second Adam, has that eternal happiness, which by the gospel is preached unto us." namonga, cankerworm is in KJV Joel 1 (KJV) 4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. Joel 2 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.(KJV) Joel 1 (NKJV) 4What the chewing locust[1] left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten. 25"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust,[5] My great army which I sent among you. 26You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. 27Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. (NKJV) Pastor Glenn |

Hey, Well, this just shows that we are just like family here Hank: When one of us makes a blooper, it makes the rest of us feel good about ourselves. ;-) One thing that helps me is to write my longer posts in my word processor before copying here. This helps spell checking, but I still make similar bloopers. God Bless you brother, Pastor Glenn |

513 | saved regardless of their own attitudes? | John 5:24 | Pastor Glenn | 63858
Hank, I hate picking on just one statement that you made, but this one just looks strange. Where does this statement come from? "The doctrine of grace does teach that certain ones will be saved regardless of their own attitudes and responses. " If it is true then does that include "attitudes and responses" towards Christ? 514 | Where doe God say he is Jesus? | Acts 9:1 | Pastor Glenn | 63843
SunsetGypsy, The bible shows that Jesus' devinity is more open and plain to those that want to know and follow Him. While He hides His secrets from those that love evil: John 4:25The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things." 26Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." Even the religious leaders rejected Him and could not see Him in the scriptures: Matt 22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "The Son of David." 43He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him "Lord,' saying: 44"The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"'?[Psalm 110:1] 45If David then calls Him "Lord,' how is He his Son?" 46And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore. 1 Corinthians 2:8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. SunsetGypsy, If you invite Him in, He will reveal more to you also: Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Pastor Glenn |

New Creature You asked: 1) What is your definition of sanctification, and is it a complete or incompleted act within the believer? Sanctify To set apart for sacred use; consecrate. To make holy: Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. God is able to sanctify us completely through Jesus' blood: Heb 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 2) What is the difference between holiness and sanctification? Sanctification leads to holiness. True repentence makes sanctification easy since Jesus comes in and changes us from the inside out (See Psalm 51). Therefore, New Creature we die to ourselves and become new creatures. The problem is with those that follow God half-heartedly. God is absolutely holy and requires absolute holiness of us. But some church go'ers want to "stradle the fence", in that they want the best of both worlds. Since God knows our hearts, He will not tolerate cleaning the outside of the cup while the inside is still filthy: Exodus 19:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. 22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them. 23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it. 24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 516 | scripture on healing | James 5:14 | Pastor Glenn | 63731
EdB, I read the site at: http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/heal2.html#SICK It was not clear at first glance that the focus is on last Rites, rather than for all general sickness. We should always look to the bible for what God is saying, above what our denominational tradition says. Jesus taught against tradition. Pastor Glenn |

519 | Elders anointing sick with oil. | James 5:14 | Pastor Glenn | 63712
justme, About two years ago I anointed and prayed for my sister in-law after she had a severe stroke. She was uncontious and did not wake while I was there. She is now bound to a wheelchair and her daughter has moved her away to take care of her in another state. This past December I rushed from work to the hospital to anoint and pray for an elderly woman member of my church. But I was too late. As I arrived, her son was on his way towards his car. He informed me that she had just past away. Her's was the only funeral that I have performed so far after only one year as pastor. I am determined to pray, fast, and anoint the sick while exhibiting faith on God to give them a full recovery. I believe that God wants me to have faith first and formost, then the sick will have less reason to doubt. It is good to lead them in death bed confession of sin. But their confession and conversion is the greatest miracle that they can recieve. If we can have the faith for the greater thing (salvation), then why not for the smaller thing (healing) also? Anointing with oil may be an act of obedience, but it shows faith to obey God. Habakkuk 2:4 "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." Galatians 3:11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." Heb 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |
