43 | What month was Jesus born in? | Bible general Archive 2 | khuck | 103773
Hi Michael! I had to go to http://www.shevetjewishmeditation.org/tishabav.shtml because Tish b'av added a whole new area to the question :) Very interesting indeed. Thank you. ***There are two aspects of Tish b'Av which suggest this meaning of the day. First, the day is considered a “moad”, which is a holiday--on such days we do not say Tachanun, the prayers of supplication and forgiveness. Second, there is the tradition that people wash their floors in the afternoon of the day, in expectation of the final redemption. It is passed down that the Messiah will be born on Tish b'Av, and thus bringing with him the redemption. The day, then, has an intrinsic meaning of transformation and hope, and can be seen as an opportunity to give birth to the messiah in each of us, that person who is unconditionally loving and recognizes the divine soul of every person.*** The only thing that I find ironic about this Jewish belief that the Messiah is going to be born on this day, is if they miscalculated initial coming, how can they possibly have the correct date? Don't answer... that one was rhetorical. Thank you though for adding more insight into the Jewish aspect of things Christian. God Bless you, -Kathy |

44 | Holy Spirit question on mysterious ways | Bible general Archive 2 | khuck | 103877
Hi Cliff, This is the only thing that I found to be comparable to your request. I hope it is of some help. Romans 11:33-36 (Amplified) Speaking of God - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)! For who has known the mind of the Lord and who has understood His thoughts, or who has [ever] been His counselor? Or who has first given God anything that he might be paid back or that he could claim a recompense? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it). -khuck |

Joel to get a better understanding of Nazirite and how it applies to those described in the scriptures: I actually went to the Lexicon to see how the word translates... you may be suprised that God called Joseph who was betrayed by his brothers, Nazirite: go to http://www.searchgodsword.org/ type in the word "nazirite" and be sure to check the box that says "Include Study Resources" it translates "RYZN and RZN" Everytime it is used in scripture it is used in varied context. It is used in 16 different verses in the Bible. Bible Scholars and Christ Believers - LOL check it out... I hope your question is answered with this great resource. God is so worthy to be praised today! I Love you! -Kathy |

48 | Jesus speaks disciple, what do we follow | NT general Archive 1 | khuck | 104575
Are we disciples of Christ, I hope so. Mere confession or profession of discipleship does not make a disciple or insure them a place in the Kingdom. Loving "SERVICE" with truth and humility shows greatness. We need our hearts to be annointed with the Holy Spirit of God in order to kindle Love, that looks for NO reward or recognition, but gives Glory to God. He Loves us so much He gave Jesus, His only Son for us! Jesus a sacrificial Lamb, who died for us because He Loved us, when we were yet sinners. Jesus laid aside His Divinity, His Royal Heritage to take the form of a "SERVANT". Christ had come to wash the stain of sin from the hearts of mankind. We must bring our sinful pollouted hearts into contact with Christ's Heart to rid ourselves of evil temper, vanity, lust, pride... etc, because He alone can wash us clean. His whole life was under a law of "SERVICE" if you will. He served all, ministered to all, and thus He fulfilled God's law and by His example, showed how we are to obey. The only greatness is in humility, the only distinction is found in "SERVICE" to others. We are to help and bless one another. Our lives to be given to unselfish ministry, because the world is full of those who need our ministry; The poor, the helpless, and the ignorant are everywhere and needing to know that Jesus came that they may have Life and that more abundantly! He is the Bread of Life. A light in darkness. He came seeking the lost. - *Gloria Dunn* This is what it means to me to be a disciple today. And I really believe that it is the heart of Christ thoughout the Ages. My mother wrote this to me and left it in written words, so the I would remember who I am and what I am called to do. I am a servant of Christ. - Kathy |

49 | Did Adam die lost? | Genesis | khuck | 102326
Ok... I am going to add on here. Jesus died for the sins of the world. Even back to the beginning... The sin that Adam committed against God was rebellion or disobedience if you will. Surely he was saved. Ask yourself this "Are you saved? Have you ever been rebellious or disobedient to the will of God? God actually told Adam this is what would become of him for his misdeed Genesis 3 7 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." Never once did God say that Adam was condemned to hell. He lost the right to be in the garden, and he lost the ability to eat from the tree of life, but God never deemed him lost. Study carefully Joshua chapter 3... the 16th verse is very interesting once you have referenced this chapter and understand the meaning of crossing the Jordan. Just my thoughts of the subject _Khuck |

50 | Did Adam die lost? | Genesis | khuck | 102339
Thank you for the welcome Hank :) The Word is clear that sin was not taken into account before the Law. Certainly Adam is not lost. Romans 5 v.12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- v.13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. v.14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. v.15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Remember my reference to the river Jordan that was overflowing, as Joshua and the Hebrews were to cross over. When the priest who were carrying the Ark (Which represents Christ) put their feet into the water... the river backed up to "Adam" the town. I like that verse. That river signified death... The Ark on the other hand signified life and salvation... even into the Adam. This is firmly my belief. -khuck |

51 | Please help with Nimrud question | Genesis | khuck | 102617
Greetings Warstom77 I found nothing regarding Sarah in my net research, but there were tombs of three queens excavated. There is information here regarding the well of which you inquired, and an explaination on Biblical reference to Nimrud. (patience please; this a a cut and paste job) The Arabs called it Nimrud after Nimrod, the biblical mighty hunter, father of Ashur (Assur), the Assyrian hero whose name explains why Assyrians are called Assyrians. Ashurnasirpal moved to Nimrud from Assur, preferring its convenient defensive site near the junction of the Tigris and the Greater Zab. Sir Max Mallowan, who excavated here after the Second World War, says of Nimrud in his book Mallowan's Memoirs (Collins, 1977): 'There is no more beautiful mound in all Assyria than Nimrud, a lonely spot still untouched by modern development. Among many other things Mallowan discovered much perfect treasure in two deep wells. And what Mallowan found in his wells has now been added to by further finds by the experts of the Iraqi Directorate-General of Antiquities. Among other discoveries too numerous to detail here were royal filing cabinets, relating to taxation and customs duties. One tablet recorded the inspection of thirty-six thousand two hundred and forty-two bows which, Mallowan says, implies an army of at least twice. that: so Nimrud could have had a population of one hundred thousand. During the spring of 1989, continuing excavations at Nimrud under Iraqi direction discovered a tomb chamber under the "harem" of Ashurnasirpal's palace. The tomb contained the remains of two women covered with the remnants of dark textiles decorated with gold rosettes and beads. The bodies were interred with a wealth of gold jewelry, including a crown, a headband of woven links, amulets, and solid gold bracelets encrusted with precious stones. The names of two Babylonian kings inscribed on some of the objects indicate that they may be of southern Mesopotamian origin. Additional finds from the tomb include cylinder seals, a stone funerary tablet, and inscribed bowls, four made of gold and one made of a rare, transparent rock crystal. Each bowl is inscribed with the name of one of three previously unknown Assyrian queens, Yabâ, Banîti, and Atalia. While the grave goods indicate that they belonged to three queens, the remains of only two individuals have been recovered. The contents of one of the several vessels inside the tomb were analyzed and identified as cremated human remains, possibly of the third queen named in the inscription. The objects found in the tombs remain in Iraq. see: httpwww.metmuseum.org/explore/anesite/html/el_ane_xcavatio.htm http://www.learningsites.com/NWPalace/NWPalhome.html http://www.geocities.com/iraqinfo/ I hope this information was of some help. -khuck |

(I am laughing) Ed, You better believe it is scary out here! Especially in S. California. In the past few weeks I have watched fire come to close from all sides, I sat through an earthquake while all around me things burned, the rains are making most peoples homes into Mobile Homes (mudslides)... and they don't even live in trailer parks and if you really want "SCARY"... The Terminator is being sworn in as our Govenor today. (laughing) -Kathy |

55 | is it wrong? | Gen 1:29 | khuck | 105071
Hi Sickhead: First marijuana is a controlled substance therefore it is by governmental law, illegal. Submission to the Authorities - Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. Second it reminds me of the questioned recently asked is it a sin to drink alcohol: The Believer's Freedom - 1 Corinthians 10 22 Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he? 23 "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive. 24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. If it is not edifying then it is wrong in my humble opinion. God Bless and Keep you, -Kathy |

56 | Pologomy Allowed? | Ex 21:10 | khuck | 102473
I believe the original writer asked, when did Polygamy end? I will pose the question when did polygamy BEGIN? It was not part of God's original plan... He created one man and one woman, "and the two became one." Therefore at the creation God joined one husband to one wife. Polygamy began with Lemech. Genesis 4 17 Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch. 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech. 19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah. Hence the Scripture does enlighten us as to God's original plan of matrimony, and how man chose his own way. Polygamy is man's creation. -khuck |

Dear Headdoc5, I love the idea of Christian Psychology, one of my good friends is a an Associate Church Pastor and Christian psychologist and when I had gone through the processes of grieving, anger and depression, he was able through his own Bible knowledge and as a Doctor to shed real 'Light' on these circumstances. He taught me to take advantage of what Christ has given me to overcome them. I commend you on 33 years of marriage (geez, most marriages do not last after 7 years) let alone having love that exponentiates each day. But it does happen and I commend you. My intention was to bring fact to the thread, but if in anyway my answer was harsh or it seemed judgemental. Please accept my sincerest apologies. Charge it to my "head" lol and not to my heart:) Growing in Him, -khuck |

Hello Hank I was really floored to hear that news also today. These are certainly the signs of the times no doubt. But your are correct we have a collective voice. We can not stand by and deem what is clearly wrong as right. The decision is abominable to say the least. The kingdom suffereth violence and the voilent take it by force. 59 | Explain the Holy Trinity-verysimple form | Numbers | khuck | 103671
Hi Ms Daisy:) The simplest way that I have ever attempted to explained the Triune God to a new convert is to compare it to myself. I am Kathy the Mother, Daughter and the Niece. I am not my Mother's mother yet I am a mother, I am not my Aunt's daughter but I am a daughter, nor am I my daughter's niece. But I am all of these persons in one being. Each having it's function. That is my most simplistic effort. God bless and keep you in the vineyards, -Kathy |

60 | Explain the Holy Trinity-verysimple form | Numbers | khuck | 103688
I wholeheartedly agree with you, that The One God is three separate yet united personalities. All in All. I also admit that my example given still falls short of His Being. It is just my most simplistic example of 3 in one :) Good to see you as always, -Kathy |
